October’s guest speaker is Kelly Evans with the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS), who will discuss upcoming federal work requirements and other changes affecting some adults enrolled in Virginia Medicaid Expansion.
Beginning January 1, 2027, new federal requirements will change how some Medicaid Expansion members qualify for and maintain coverage, including work requirements and eligibility reviews every six months. Kelly will provide an overview of the changes, who may be affected, and what providers and community partners should know as they prepare to support patients through the transition.
